Fly from Honolulu to Saipan to attend the Veterans Day ceremonies with presentation of medals to the Veterans; then on to Tinian to re-visit North Field and the Atom bomb pits; continue to Guam and see the invasion beaches and be guests of the U.S. Naval Base.

Escorted by author Bruce M. Petty. Bruce’s father served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during WWII and Bruce himself served in the Navy aboard the USS Yorktown during the Vietnam War. Bruce graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a degree in History, and in 1995 moved his family to Saipan where he researched and wrote “Saipan: Oral Histories of the Pacific War”, the first of four books he has written on the Pacific campaign. He is also involved with the recovery and identification of MIA’s from the Pacific War.
